Let Your Kind Shine
On a brisk morning that turned into a warm, sunny fall day, members of the Leone, McDonnell & Roberts team put their calculators aside, put on their hardhats and readied themselves for a day of service at Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity.
The LMR work team gathered at the home construction site in Middleton, New Hampshire and began their day with an overview of the organization and the project. Extraordinary mentors experienced in home building guided the team throughout the days’ work which encompassed a variety of projects.
The team measured, cut and installed siding, took down and reassembled staging, routed lumber for making picnic tables (which will be sold in the organization’s retail store ReStore), moved debris from the site, and cleared out the inside of the house, preparing it for electrical work. Covered in sawdust and caulking, LMR team members worked side-by-side until the late afternoon.
“Community is at the heart of everything we do and we are committed to supporting local affordable housing initiatives,” said Marketing Director Sarah Scheffer. “Leone, McDonnell & Roberts is happy to help make a difference, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve organizations like Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity.”
Habitat builds simple and affordable homes for qualified families in need, with the selected homeowners building their home alongside volunteers. Homeowners pay a monthly interest-free mortgage to Habitat and the funds, in turn, are reinvested in the organization to build more affordable homes.
