Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare and review Federal and State tax returns for individuals, businesses, nonprofits, partnerships, and trusts
  • Ensure tax filings are accurate, timely, complete, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Provide strategic tax planning and projections tailored to each client’s unique situation
  • Work with a diverse portfolio of clients across industries such as hospitality, manufacturing, affordable housing, and closely-held/family-owned businesses
  • Stay up-to-date with firm policies, procedures, and the AICPA and state CPA society’s Code of Professional Conduct, rules, and regulations
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with FASB, AICPA, GAO, and GASB standards, as well as the latest federal and state tax laws
  • Manage multiple projects and engagements efficiently, meeting deadlines and exceeding client expectations
  • Build strong professional relationships with clients and colleagues, delivering exceptional service and support
  • Proactively identify challenges and implement effective solutions
  • Foster a collaborative team environment to achieve client and firm objectives
  • Coach and mentor junior staff, supporting their professional growth and development

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree with a concentration in accounting
  • 4-6 years of relevant tax experience in public accounting
  • CPA license or eligibility preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills (timely, effective, complete)
  • Strong technical knowledge of tax laws and accounting standards
  • Ability to work independently or in team setting on complex assignments and projects
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Experience with CCH Axcess tax software, CCH ProSystem Fx Engagement, CCH Workflow as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented professional to join our growing Client Accounting Services team in a supervisory role. Based in our Dover office, this is a full-time, year-round position that involves working in-office and on-site with clients.

As a Client Accounting Services Supervisor, you’ll play a key leadership role – supervising staff, building processes, mentoring team members, and helping grow the department. You’ll work closely with clients across industries, providing accurate and timely accounting support, and occasionally stepping in to provide interim CFO/Controller-level services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support a team of professionals delivering client accounting services across all offices.
  • Oversee daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual bookkeeping and financial reporting for multiple clients.
  • Maintain and build strong client relationships. Collaborate closely with colleagues and accountants to deliver a holistic, team-based approach to client service and financial support.
  • Lead the development of department policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Train and mentor new and existing team members to foster growth and consistency.
  • Assist clients with payroll processing, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance reporting.
  • Provide general ledger reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and financial insights.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and departmental growth initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Supervisory or management experience in an accounting or finance setting.
  • Bookkeeping experience, including reconciliation services and strong balance sheet comprehension.
  • Payroll processing, including federal and state reporting.
  • Team-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
