Leone, McDonnell & Roberts recently hosted a CPA for a Day event for college students to cultivate their career development by exploring the profession of public accounting and gaining an understanding into the day-to-day work of an accountant.
The CPA for a Day program was designed for students to experience the culture and atmosphere of the firm while sharing what a career in public accounting looks like. Participants were given the opportunity to meet firm leaders, tour the office, shadow the accounting staff and preview many areas of the business including audit, accounting and individual and business tax preparation. Lunch with the LMR team was also included, offering a glimpse into the family-like atmosphere of the firm.
The students in attendance seized the opportunity to engage in the learning process, asking pertinent questions and making new connections.
“We enjoy providing a hands-on, engaging experience for the students,” said Marketing Director Sarah Scheffer. “We hope they gained valuable insight into what accountants do in the real world, and that this opportunity will help propel their education and professional journey.”
