- Deadline to file return and pay any tax due. Also, it’s the deadline to file a 6-month extension. An estimate of payment is due at the time of filing the extension.

Federal – Individuals (1040)
- The IRS typically begins accepting and processing individual 2025 tax returns in late January 2026. Deadline to file return and pay any tax due. Also, it’s the deadline to file a 6-month extension. You must still pay any balances you may owe by April 15, 2026. Maine and Massachusetts taxpayers should be aware of any differences in the dates due to the Patriot’s Day which is observed in those states.
