Shauna I. Brown
Shauna began her career at Leone, McDonnell & Roberts, Professional Association in 2006. Joining the partner group in 2017, Shauna’s practice is primarily dedicated to providing audit and review services for nonprofit organizations and closely-held businesses. Shauna works with a wide range of clients, which include, but are not limited to for-profit businesses in various industries, nonprofits, affordable housing and HUD organizations. She also has experience in taxation. Prior to joining the firm, Shauna worked at a Massachusetts CPA firm for three years.
Shauna originally grew fond of the accounting industry after learning the experiences of friends and family who worked in the field and learning of their interactions with and commitment to serving their clients. Today she attributes her success to a number of factors, including her education and on-the-job training, the knowledgeable mentors she has worked with throughout her career and her commitment to never stop learning. Shauna believes the experience of having a family has emphasized the importance of working hard and efficiently in order to maintain a steady career-life balance.
Shauna grew up in Deerfield, New Hampshire where she resides today with her husband Nate and their two children. While not in the office, she enjoys spending time with family, especially watching her daughters on the soccer field or basketball court. Additionally, whether she is running along the country roads in her home town or going on short hikes with her family, Shauna enjoys spending time outdoors.

Steven A. Kiander
Steven A. Kiander, a seasoned Certified Public Accountant (CPA), brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Leone, McDonnell & Roberts team. Born and raised in Goffstown, NH, Steven graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Business Administration. With 15 years of experience as a CPA for the State of New Hampshire and an additional decade in public accounting, Steven has honed his skills in serving small, closely-held businesses, LLCs, partnerships, and trusts/estates. His specialties include tax return preparation, consulting, tax projection, and state filing requirements.
Steven is passionate about the accounting and finance field because it allows him to help individuals and businesses stay focused on their goals, including financial growth, retirement planning, or ensuring federal and state compliance. His dedication to his clients is evident in his systematic approach to their unique financial situations.
Steven served as the Treasurer of the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association (NHSA) for five years (2019-2023) and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Outside of work, he enjoys camping with his wife and children at Old Orchard Beach, biking, BBQing, and relaxing. He loves meeting new people, making friends, and supporting the New Hampshire Special Olympics, a charity close to his heart.

Sydney Carlisle
Sydney Carlisle joined the Leone, McDonnell & Roberts team in 2021, and is a Senior Accountant working out of the North Conway, New Hampshire office. A 2021 honors and magna cum laude graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Sydney received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with options in Accounting & Entrepreneurship. During her sophomore year at UNH, she participated in the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, helping file tax returns for low-income individuals.
Before starting at Leone, McDonnell & Roberts, Sydney worked as an administrative intern at William & Henry Wide Plank Floors. In January 2021, she joined Leone, McDonnell & Roberts for busy season, helping with individual tax returns. Starting full-time in July 2021, Sydney continues to learn and grow, working on audits and tax preparation and extensions.
Sydney’s favorite thing about accounting is the dynamic environment that promotes continuous learning. She also loves working with clients on various engagements and collaborating with other team members at the firm. In addition to helping out with client needs, she still finds the time to study for the rigorous CPA exam which is her next professional goal.
Sydney resides in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. When not at work, she can often be found at the beach in Truro, MA or skiing, walking and hiking throughout New England. She also enjoys spending time with friends, family, and loved ones.

Shannon Crowley
Shannon is a Staff Accountant at Leone, McDonnell & Roberts, bringing extensive experience in auditing, forensic accounting, and private investigation. Shannon holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Plymouth State University, where she was recognized with the Criminal Justice Book Scholarship award. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in forensic accounting at Southern New Hampshire University.
Shannon prepares financial statements and single audits in her current role at the firm. She especially enjoys getting to know each client’s unique operations and learning about new industries with every engagement. Her prior experience in investigation allows her to bring a critical eye and attention to detail when auditing.
Outside of work, Shannon is actively involved with her alma mater, Plymouth State, serving as vice president of the class of 2018 and formerly holding leadership roles in the Kappa Delta Phi NAS sorority. She is also deeply passionate about supporting the American Diabetes Association in honor of her cousin Emily, who passed away from the disease in 2020.
Shannon enjoys an active lifestyle in her free time, including skiing, mountain biking, riding jet skis, playing soccer and softball, and traveling. Her happy place is spending time with her family, boyfriend Matt, and their three dogs, Tuukka, Jake, and Diesel, at their camp on Lake Winnipesaukee.

Sharon Verrilli
Sharon joined the Leone, McDonnell & Roberts team in 2022 as an Accounting Client Specialist. Sharon has extensive experience in accounting. She has a BS in Accounting from the University of New Haven, Connecticut, and she has more than 10 years of experience as an AVP/Accountant in the banking industry. Then, while raising her children, she managed the books for her family business. Sharon has also passed the CPA exam. In her current role at our firm, she works with a wide range of LMR clients, helping them with QuickBooks, both the online and desktop versions.
Sharon grew up in Connecticut and currently resides in Tuftonboro with her husband Steve and two children. When not hard at work helping LMR clients, Sharon loves spending time in nature with her dogs, boating, snowmobiling. She also loves cooking, yoga, and volunteering with the elderly.

Sarah Scheffer
Sarah joined the Leone, McDonnell & Roberts team in January of 2018. In her role as Marketing Director, Sarah manages a wide range of marketing and communication efforts for the firm, including website updates, social media management, print collateral, event coordination, blogs/news and advertising. She also coordinates recruiting, sponsorship, and community engagement for the team.
Before joining Leone, McDonnell & Roberts, Sarah built her marketing career at both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Her professional experience with for-profits and nonprofits makes her an excellent resource for our internal initiatives as well as client-facing campaigns — she understands our clients’ pain points and is able to develop resources that articulate the Leone, McDonnell & Roberts’ difference.
Giving back is also a priority to Sarah. Since 2011, she has served the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Rochester, New Hampshire. In 2021, Sarah was presented the Sandra C. Labaree Volunteer Values Award, an accolade recognizing her many accomplishments in support of the Society’s mission to celebrate lives, save lives and to lead the fight for a world without cancer. Currently, she is a co-chair of the Rochester event and the co-captain of an active Relay for Life team. She has also volunteered and supported the Dover Chamber of Commerce, Tri-City Christian Academy, and other organizations.
A lifelong New Hampshire native, Sarah graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Women’s Studies. When she’s not at the office, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband, Todd, and their two adult children. Outside of volunteering, some of her favorite activities include camping, biking and playing the piano.
